Inverse Airborne Optical Sectioning

چکیده
We present Inverse Airborne Optical Sectioning (IAOS), an optical analogy to Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR). Moving targets, such as walking people, that are heavily occluded by vegetation can be made visible and tracked with a stationary sensor (e.g., hovering camera drone above forest). introduce the principles of IAOS (i.e., inverse synthetic aperture imaging), explain how signal occluders further suppressed filtering Radon transform image integral, targets’ motion parameters estimated manually automatically. Finally, we show while tracking targets in conventional aerial images is infeasible, it becomes efficiently possible integral result from IAOS.

Spatially adaptive 3D inverse for optical sectioning
In this paper, we propose a novel nonparametric approach to reconstruction of three-dimensional (3D) objects from 2D blurred and noisy observations which is a problem of computational optical sectioning. This approach is based on an approximate image formation model which takes into account depth varying nature of blur described by a matrix of shift-invariant 2D point-spread functions (PSF ) of...
متن کاملAlveolar expansion imaged by optical sectioning microscopy.
During lung expansion, the pattern of alveolar perimeter distension is likely to be an important determinant of lung functions as, for example, surfactant secretion. However, the segmental characteristics of alveolar perimeter distension remain unknown. Here, we applied real-time confocal microscopy in the isolated, perfused rat lung to determine the micromechanics of alveolar perimeter distens...
متن کاملFull-color structured illumination optical sectioning microscopy
In merits of super-resolved resolution and fast speed of three-dimensional (3D) optical sectioning capability, structured illumination microscopy (SIM) has found variety of applications in biomedical imaging. So far, most SIM systems use monochrome CCD or CMOS cameras to acquire images and discard the natural color information of the specimens. Although multicolor integration scheme are employe...
متن کاملFast Calcium Imaging with Optical Sectioning via HiLo Microscopy
Imaging intracellular calcium concentration via reporters that change their fluorescence properties upon binding of calcium, referred to as calcium imaging, has revolutionized our way to probe neuronal activity non-invasively. To reach neurons densely located deep in the tissue, optical sectioning at high rate of acquisition is necessary but difficult to achieve in a cost effective manner. Here...
متن کاملReconstruction of flame temperature field with Optical Sectioning Method
The temperature information is of great significance to the study of flame structure, soot distribution and combustion mechanism. It is also vital to combustion control. This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a flame imaging system based on optical sectioning method to reconstruct the steady state temperature field of candlelight. A 3-D luminous object can be regarded ...
